Industry Experts
When starting in the audio-visual industry in 2001 Matthew (Pratts AV Owner) was not sure he was cut out for the “sales” part of the industry, but with a passion for Technology, he soon realised “sales” was just a way to get the perfect tech into the hands of people not in the know and less tech-savvy. Over the years of working with top quality company’s not dedicated to maximising their turnover but concentrating on customer service, Matthew learned a lot. In 2010 Matthew decided to branch out on his own and Pratts AV (Formally AV Solutions Direct) was born.

Over the years we have seen technology change, new systems have come and gone and each time Pratts AV have changed/moved with this technology, to keep offering 1st rate service to our clients.
History of Technology and Pratts AV
2001
Technology changed many times, from the introduction of the Apple iPod in 2001 and the use of mp3 and streaming services. These changes were the start of major changes to the way we use our home entertainment systems.
2005
Sonos released its 1st product skyrocketing multi-room audio to the masses, these systems had previously been reserved for big projects that could be hard-wired during a build/renovation of a property.
2007
Apple launched the 1st iPhone and this was the 1st major change to Matthew’s (Pratts AV) system planning requirements. From planning wires in a home and working out how to control it we now had to work out would wireless work in the plan and could it be controlled by an Apple device or an Android one.
2010
Music streaming services had now taken off and the vast majority of clients listened to music this way and Netflix was well on the way to taking over the market for Video streaming services too. Here is another turning point for Pratts AV, not all home networks could handle the amount of data needed for each of these services to work.
2011
We started working with home network companies like Unbiqty, net gear and TPLink to help clients create robust and secure wireless and wired home networks.
2012
Working with HDAnywhere, WireStorm and many other manufactures we started offering HD multi-room matrix installations allowing multiple devices to be sent to multiple rooms all from a central location.
2016
The 1st 4k UHD Blu-ray player was released to market and was soon followed by 4K streaming services. With our current specialities of multiroom video, this was not a problem and many systems were already future proof.
2019
From 2019 we added CCTV and Alarm systems to our installation portfolio and again working with leaders in this field we can install cameras and alarms in your new build. Not building from scratch? No problem we have a number of wireless options to suit.
